Did you know there were sharks in the North Atlantic, off the coast of Newfoundland?
Neither did I, until I read this article in today’s National Post. Apparently this type of shark, a “porbeagle” (and seriously, where did they come up with the name?) ranges from North America to northern Europe and elsewhere.
And here I thought sharks were the one thing you definitely didn’t have to worry about when swimming in the Maritimes. In fact, I told my son last year when we went to Prince Edward Island that there were NO SHARKS in these waters, at all! Well, I’ve just been made a liar. (Please don’t tell him.)
